Yum Bowl
This is a knockoff recipe for the signature dish of the resturaunt chain Café Yumm!, which spawned out of Eugene, Oregon. The key part of this meal is the sauce. This meal feels good in the body and good on the tongue.
Preparation
- 1
Cook brown rice. I like using this insta-pot recipe.
The rice takes a bit of time to make but does not require active participation if you are using a rice cooker or instant pot.
- 2
Create yum sauce using these directions.
The yum sauce takes a bit of effort to create, but a lot of it can be made at once and it doesn’t go bad quickly. The sauce can be stored directly in the blender pitcher it's made in.
- 3
Once the rice is done, distribute it amongst serving bowls.
- 4
Distribute the beans amongst the serving bowls.
If using black beans from a can, give a wash to them before putting them in the bowls.
- 5
Distribute other ingredients on the bowls.
Quantities can be altered to individual preference. Be careful not to overflow. There is a lot of good stuff in these and it's easy to overdo it. Ingredients can be arranged in a pretty fashion for style points.
